BUCHANAN AEROSPACE
Buchanan Aerospace was founded in July 2008 by Desmond Buchanan; who also later founded Buchanan Aerospace (NIG) LTD. Mr. Buchanan started out to establish an aviation service entity based on traditional core values accompanied with modern ideas and technology.
Mr. Buchanan had the forethought to realize there would become an increased necessity for safe, efficient, and reliable aviation maintenance facilities considering the growth in air travel on the continent of Africa and globally.
We offer maintenance services in all faucets of aircraft to ensure air worthiness.
CNN reported in 2015 “Overall, the International Air Transport Association predicts that in the next two decades, Africa will be one of the fastest growing aviation regions in the world.”
The International Airport Transportation Association (IATA) reported in 2016 “Africa will grow by 5.1%. By 2035 it will see an extra 192 million passengers a year for a total market of 303 million passengers.”

Desmond Buchanan joined the US Marine Corps where he amassed over a decade of training and experience in aviation. That dedication and experience continues to be our driving force today.

DESMOND BUCHANAN
Chairman of the Board, Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Desmond Buchanan graduated from the prestigious Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in New York, New York.
Desmond has over thirty years of aviation experience which began in the U.S. Marine Corps. His aviation career continued with Pan American World Airlines, United Airlines, TWA, Air Jamaica, and Evergreen Helicopters. Desmond brings vast knowledge to his team as a technician, a teacher, and a leader. Desmond’s level of experience also involves performing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) C Checks on commercial airplanes.
Since 1991 Desmond has provided counsel and support to leading officials in Africa’s Central/Western region and has been involved in various sectors of the Nigerian, Ghanaian and Angolan aviation industries. While working extensively in this region, Desmond realized the need for a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. He also understood there would become an increased necessity for safe, efficient, and reliable aviation maintenance facilities considering the growth in the air travel on the continent of Africa and globally. In 2004 Desmond founded Buchanan Aerospace, Inc. then later Buchanan Aerospace (NIG) LTD.
Desmond resides in Queens, New York with his wife and two of his five children.
RALPH A. MARSTON
Board Member & President
Ralph A. Marston joined the United States Marine Corp 1980 and was trained at Naval Air Station in Millington, Tennessee and Bell Helicopter Textron in Fort Worth, Texas. Ralph’s duties in the Marine Corps included Drill Inductor, Phase Maintenance/Periodic Maintenance Supervisor and Collateral Duty Inspector where he supervised the staff conducting complete overhauls of aircrafts and components, and inspected the work performed in order to verify and sign off on aircrafts as safe for flight.
In 1991 Ralph graduated from Florida Law Enforcement Academy in Orlando, Florida and then joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff. He became a Field Training Officer to newly-graduated officers from the Police Academy and mentored Junior Officers regarding officer safety, report writing and familiarization with agency policies and procedures. Ralph continued his education by attending Indian River Community College and Florida Atlantic University.
In 2003 Ralph founded, Ralph A. Marston Investigations, Inc. in Florida. As a licensed investigator, he used his law enforcement training and experience to build a reputable agency providing successful defense to clients charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanors to felony murder. He also provides personal protection to entertainers. Ralph began his position at Buchanan Aerospace in 2017.
Ralph resides in Florida with his wife where they enjoy cruising and fishing.
COLIN CORRICA
Board Member & VP, Operations
Colin Corrica is an A&P Certified Aircraft Technician with almost 40 years of experience. Colin currently serves as a Maintenance Technician for JetBlue Airways. His career in aviation began with the U. S. Navy where he served as an Airframe Structure Hydraulic Mechanic, maintaining F-14 Aircrafts and SH-2F Helicopters.
After active-duty and the reserves in the Navy, Colin went on to work for major international air carriers, like Pan American World Airlines, to midsize air cargo companies, like Evergreen International Airlines. He has experience working on several 747s, A310-200, 727, 737, and 757 aircrafts. Colin has a wealth of knowledge in performing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) C Checks on commercial airplanes.
In addition, Colin also has a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He has helped to start an auto driving school in Brooklyn, NY that is still in business more than 30 years later. Since 1997, Colin has also been the Chief Executive Officer of a small insurance agency in Brooklyn, NY, Winsdale Insurance Agency, Inc., which seeks to provide convenience to individuals seeking home, auto, and life insurance. He is a highly qualified broker and seeks the best for his clients. Colin brings with him to Buchanan Aerospace a wealth of technical knowledge and experience.
Colin resides in Queens, New York with his wife and children.
CRAIG CAMPBELL
Board Member & Chief Financial Officer
Craig P. Campbell is a highly respected New York State Certified Public Accountant (CPA); listed in “Cambridge Who’s Who” with a career that spans over thirty years.
Craig graduated from Bernard M. Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting and from Columbia University with a Masters of Business Administration, Management/Finance.
Early in his career, during his employment at Merrill Lynch & Company, he boosted overall efficiencies including improving strategic decision-making for the executive team and ensuring that regulatory reporting requirements were satisfied by serving on the corporate task force to launch a comprehensive reengineering of the firm’s Regional Reporting Process. Resulting in the creation of a standardized format of reporting by all seven regions within the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, Japan, Australia and Latin America. Craig also worked in the same capacity throughout New York, NY at Continental Grain Company; Viacom, Inc; and Deloitte & Touche.
Craig’s knowledge stems from his experience as the CFO/Controller at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation in Brooklyn, NY where he implemented the process for recording accruals at month-end, prepared bank reconciliations and rectified long-overdue payables. At Cellfish Media he was instrumental in facilitating a healthy financial organization while impacting a profitable change as the Global Controller.
Prior to joining Buchanan Aerospace, Inc., Craig served as the Associate Vice President of Financial Management and Control for SUNY Downstate Medical Center where he managed the daily corporate financial operations.
MICHELLE COLLISON
Board Member & Attorney
Michelle Collison, Esq. attended the University of Guyana and Hugh Wooding Law School where she graduated with her LLB and LEC. Admitted to the bar in Guyana in 2000 and to the New York State Bar in 2015, Michelle continues to practice law.
Michelle is dedicated to working to accomplish the tasks of Buchanan Aerospace and will work assiduously to getting this done.
JOANIE GRIFFITH
VP, Administartion
A self-motivated professional with over twenty-eight years of experience in diverse areas including executive administrative support, sales and marketing operations, event planning, executive travel, calendaring, customer service, negotiations, financial management and recruiting. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and adept at multitasking, prioritizing, decision making and team building. Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members, management and clients. Recognized for exceeding expectations, teamwork, coordinating events and providing conference support. Over ten years of supporting C-Level Executives, SVPs, VPs and Directors. She is proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PMx/SAP, PowerSource and Lotus Notes.
Joanie gained her experience working with such companies as IBM and Cross Match Technologies among others. She has become an integral part of Buchanan Aerospace.
CARLA FLOR
Executive Assistant
Carla Flor has a passion for the Aviation Industry since she was a teenager. She attended Aviation High School where she obtained her Airframe and Power Plant licenses. She then pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in The Science of Aviation Maintenance Technology at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Carla’s Aviation career started 6 years ago at Pinnacle Airlines where she worked on CRJs 200/700/900. She then later joined JetBlue Airlines where she worked on Embraer 190s and Airbus 320/321. Carla brings to Buchanan Aerospace a wealth of technical and administrative experience.
Carla is a positive individual with a can-do attitude and a willingness to achieve the highest standards of service.
